Like father, like son

One of the many tricks dad has taught Bryce is a joke that dad always tricks mom with. Bryce loves to pretend like you have something on your shirt and ask "What's on your shirt?" When you look at your shirt he says, "boop, got your nose!". He still has trouble poking your nose and not your eye however. The first two times he attempted this trick he got mom right in the eye!

The movies!

we took Bryce to the movie theater this weekend just in case it was our last weekend as a family of three :) We had a special time and all had a great time. Bryce heard people munching on popcorn and candy during the movie and kept asking, "dada, can i have a snack please?" You know you're loved when dad goes out during the movie and gets a 5 dollar bag of candy for you! He was quite content after his snack.

Fall fun!

In celebration of fall, Bryce got this pumpkin. He loves to paint and color and painted quite a masterpiece on the pumpkin. What a great little artist!

Brownies

bryce loves to help mom make dinner and dessert. He is happily whipping up a batch of brownies to help out!

love for letters

Bryce loves the alphabet and anything to do with letters and spelling. He often will just start singing at any moment. This morning at breakfast he decided to sing his abc's. He also loves to sing, "I love to spell, s-p-e-l-l!" many times throughout the day.

"Don't touch"

Bryce often repeats what we have said to him in past situations...he really has quite the memory! Dad said "don't touch" one night and Bryce started laughing and saying, "don't touch" just like dad. he thought this was too funny.

camping out

Bryce loves his Handy Manny tent. He wanted to have a camp out and sleep in his Handy Manny tent all night. When I woke him up the next morning he was still in the tent. he looked at me and said, "Mama, my body hurts!" I tried to warn him the night before that the floor might not be so comfy, but I guess he had to see for himself. He hasn't asked to sleep in his tent again but has opted for his comfy bed!

"What is it?"

Bryce got a special big brother gift from one of mom's coworkers this weekend. He was so excited to have a gift to open and kept saying "what is it?" over and over. He was happy to find a dinosaur, some stickers, and a coloring pad.

Bryce has finally conquered the potty after a not so fun month or two :) He has no problem now and really enjoys picking out his undies for the morning. he is enjoying his prize in this picture...a pack of smarties. He caught on quick to how the prizes are distributed and decided to ask to go potty maybe a few more times than really necessary . He quickly emptied the prize bag full of cars, flashcards, and books...we decided to give him stickers for a potty chart now, which he loves just as much...and we love that we're not shopping in the target dollar bin every week to fill up the prize bag!

"Go Yankee Bryce!"

One of Bryce's favorite movies is "Everyone's hero" in which a boy nicknames himself Yankee Irving since he is such a big NY Yankees fan. Going about our routine one day we heard Bryce shouting "go Yankee Bryce, Go Yankee Bryce!" while running laps around the dining room table. Now he often refers to himself as just that and loves to wear his NY Yankees hat. After a fun filled night being Yankee Bryce and playing outside he decided to come in for a cookie and a bit of a rest!

Spelling

Bryce just learned how to spell his name and has been doing a great job. We have been working on teaching him how to spell his middle name, Jonathan, but that might take a bit longer :) Dad also taught him one of his jokes that goes something like this..."What's on your shirt mama?...and when I look at my shirt he shouts, "boop, got your nose". The joke would be great if he really got your nose instead of poking you in the eye!

Caramel apple

Bryce was happy to find out that dessert this night was caramel apples that Aunt katie and uncle Damian brought from the amish market. He proceeded to pick the caramel off and just eat the apple...he really enjoyed the apple though!

gummy worms!

aunt katie, Uncle Damian, and cousin Samuel came for dinner last night. Bryce was thrilled when Aunt Katie showed him the gummy worms they brought for him. He got to enjoy a few as a special treat this day!

Bryce the big brother-to-be

We have been talking with Bryce about his new baby brother who is coming soon. He just recently discovered his brother moving in mom's belly. He will very gently place his hand on my belly and let out a huge giggle when his brother kicks his hand. Just today he came up to my belly and said "Baby brayden...you wanna come out and play with me?...c'mon let's play baby!" We think he's going to be a great big brother helping out:)

Bryce has turned the kitchen table into his secret fort. He loves to have the occasional snack in his fort and usually takes all of his magnetic fridge letters and lines them up on the floor of his fort. he always has lots of fun there.

Stuffed animals

Bryce loves to have his stuffed animals right by his side at bedtime. we decided to have him sleep with us the other night when hurricane irene was coming through our area. we asked him to pick out one of his stuffed animals to sleep with and he came back from his room with his arms full...and all of his stuffed animals! He has named them all as well...manny (Handy manny), sheep the sheep, ry-ry the caterpillar, lightning mcqueen, mickey, bob the wolf, bullseye, and dada ( knoebels bear). he loves them all!

Rain boots

Bryce really loves to wear his rain boots around the house and wanted to wear them while coloring in his coloring book today.

Time for a bath...

I told Bryce it was time to hop in the tub and take a bath and he disappeared from the bathroom. I went looking for him and found a pair of feet sticking out from under his bed. He is getting better at hiding :)

Coloring cars

Bryce got some gifts in the mailbox from papa and gigi. He was very excited when he opened the envelope to find a cars coloring book, a tin whistle, a book and bookmark. He started coloring right away!

We don't often have donuts in the house so when dad got this donut with oreos and gummi worms on top for Bryce it was a real treat! he savored every last bite and had chocolate everywhere...even on his feet :)

Just like daddy

Bryce loves watching and listening to dad play his guitar so when we got guitar hero out Bryce wanted to play like daddy! we got him his own guitar to play. He watched the screen when the music started and i could tell by the expression on his face he was trying very hard to figure out how the game worked. He started to get the hang of it and began strumming right along with dad.

Enjoying the last piece of pie :)

Bryce was happy to help mom and dad out by finishing the last piece of lime pie. He must have enjoyed his treat...it was gone in a matter of minutes!

Fishing

Bryce got a new outdoor toy this weekend...a sand table. we filled it with water for the end of the summer and he started fishing! The cover for the table even has a matchbox car racetrack on top which he says is "so cool!"
