Bryce's wish

After 4 long months for Bryce he has finally gotten his wish. While visiting family in Rochester this Christmas Bryce looked at Brayden and told us, 'he just wanted an Alex' (our nephew who is now 1!). Well, now Brayden is happily joining in the fun playing with Bryce and talking to him. Bryce really enjoys having a buddy to play and laugh with.

our big guy

Bryce is growing up so fast...he is quite the character and always gives us something to laugh about. Bryce also always listens to a Bible story before bed each night and loves learning about Jesus. We tell him he can talk to Jesus anytime he needs to and He will always listen. After stubbing his toe on the stairs one morning I found him crying and asked him if he wanted a kiss for his ouchie. He said "well, I talked to Jesus mom and he said that playing the wii would make my toe feel better."

Sitting up

Brayden is now sitting up on his own. He still needs some practice as he tends to propel himself backward when he doesn't feel like sitting anymore, but he enjoys being a big boy for a while. Bryce loves bringing a pile of books in when Brayden is in the mood to sit up and read them all to him.

Sleepy

Brayden loves to sleep on his side or tummy now.

6 months old!

Bray has turned 6 months old already. He weighed in at 19 1/2 lbs and 28 inches tall. His growth spurts are requiring mom and dad to go digging through Bryce's old 12-18 month clothing to see if we can find something that fits! And for everyone that is wondering, yes, the bumbo now comes with Bray when we try to take him out due to his adorable chubby legs...reminds us of the problems Bryce had with the bumbo :)

brown bear

Bryce is reading Brayden's brown bear book to him before his nap. Bryce still loves books...Brayden is not such a big fan of reading but will listen to Bryce read every now and then!

bray

We always get comments on braydens "big blue eyes!" Lately though people have been commenting more on his beautiful full cheeks. We're hoping we'll see a tooth soon...if you notice his bib is soaked with drool :)

Playing

Brayden loves his jumper and Bryce loves his new leappad. Bryce decided to play under the jumper and tell Brayden, "hey watch where you're jumping Brayden!" (with a huge smile on his face) as Brayden jumped in delight. These two sure do love each other!

Razzing

Brayden has perfected razzing and loves to do this while eating his solid food. Tonight he decided to razz while eating his peas and got peas everywhere...which he thought was hilarious of course.

Easter

Bryce had lots of fun hunting for easter eggs and Cars cars this year. He was thrilled with his Easter basket and is all ready for next Easter!

loving life :)

brayden is such a happy carefree boy! He loves his solid food now...especially pears and sweet potatoes but he's happy eating peas and bananas too. He also loves to play in his highchair...I think so he can have a good view of what's going on around the house...Bryce is always entertaining to watch. He is growing up fast!

"T-ball is a so good game!"

Bryce is really enjoying the warm weather recently because he gets to play in the backyard alot. He wanted to play t-ball tonight. He kept saying "t-ball is a so good game!" and "I'll run around the field this time" It made us both laugh when we heard him clear his throat and hit his bat on the ground a few times before stepping up to the tee to bat. Can you tell he likes to watch baseball with dad?

Brayden rolls over

Brayden rolled over back to belly for the first time on March 10th. Ever since he has decided to keep rolling over when no one is watching or when we step out of the room for a second. I decided to take the video camera with me this time while I "stepped out of the room".

"k" is for cold

bryce had some ice cream and blueberries after supper tonight. I kept hearing him say "this is the biggest ice cream i've ever seen!" again and again so I decided to get it on video. At the end I heard him say , "hey, 'k' is for cold"...not quite but good effort Bryce :)

The playground

After playing and running around the playground bryce was too tired to walk back. I carried him for a while and then thought it was silly that I was carrying the 32 lb boy and strolling the 17 lb boy. Bryce wanted to hop in the stroller so we made the switch...and everyone was happy on the walk/ride back home :)

the boys

We took advantage of this unseasonably warm day and walked to the playground. bray loved the stroller ride and bryce loved the playground.

"I look sharp!"

After getting a haircut, a bath, an ear cleaning, and fingernails and toenails trimmed Bryce said to me, "I look sharp mom!"

Our handsome 5 month old

Brayden turned 5 months old yesterday. He is eating down cereal and fruit with delight and is soon to start trying some veggies. He is rolling over like a pro now. Of course I am always making a bottle, helping Bryce in the bathroom, or making dinner when he decides to roll over. I have never once seen him roll over... I just come back in the room to find him on his belly. Dad saw him roll over once but we have yet to capture this milestone on video!

Reading

Bryce is reading to Brayden...who is not as interested in books as Bryce was or still is but will listen to the occasional story from his big brother.

???

As we all know Bryce is spunky and high energy...this makes for great entertainment for Brayden. He doesn't get startled by Bryce but sometimes gives him a 'what are you doing?' kind of a look...we love our boys!

Daddy's boy

Brayden is a daddy's boy...he loves to smile and laugh with dad. He had a long day at church and cuddled up with dad and fell asleep this Sunday :)

Happy baby

brayden is such a happy baby. He loves his jungle gym and will talk and talk while playing. I came back into the living room today to find Bray had managed to collapse the jungle gym and was laying on top of it somehow. He never cried or fussed....still as happy as can be!

socks

Bryce hates wearing socks and you will most likely always find him running around the house barefoot. He also has this habit of throwing his socks behind the recliner after he takes them off. I was putting some laundry in the dryers upstairs and came back down to find Brayden barefoot and his socks nowhere in sight. I knew right where to look but Bryce said, "mom, just wait, don't look where I'm going. I'll get Bray's socks!" He must think I don't know where he tosses them :)

The boys

Bryce and Bray were relaxing in the recliner this morning. Bray kept leaning over and grabbing Bryce's pjs. Bryce was getting upset asking Bray, "Bray, why are you pulling my pjs?" Bray would just look at him and smile. He loves when Bryce talks to him. I think he's preparing so he can keep up with Bryce when they get older :)

Brayden started to not want his pacifier a month or so ago. Today, I walked into the living room to find him sucking his thumb.

The boys with their quilts :)

I made each of the boys their own quilt. Brayden's is working great...any baby spit-up wipes right off the flannel :) And Bryce got a tic tac toe quilt. Of course such a unique boy needs such a unique quilt. He didn't want one with his name on it he said since he already had his "b-r-y-c-e" bag. When I finished his quilt we wound up playing 20+ games of tic tac toe and he told me, "wow, thanks mom, this is just so beautiful!"

Bray's laugh

Dad can always get Bray to smile or laugh. Here he is after supper laughing at dad again!
